Perpetual motion of the creative kind (pt 2)

Continuing the train of thought concerning perpetual creative energy, two days ago I received a surprise in the mail. There was a package from Calgary from Melissa, who participated in one of the first group projects here on the blog (actually on the original blog site), the Smoke Project. I loved that project because every submission I received was created in an entirely different medium from the others. Melissa’s was a stitching project in which she designed a custom stitching sample of the alphabet, with the letters “S, M, O, K, E” standing out in a different color.

What she didn’t tell me was that she secretly decided to have the sample sent to her friend all the way in Illinois who sewed it into a custom pillow, then had it shipped back to Calgary, and ultimately mailed it to me. Another double journey of a piece of creativity. What a great surprise, thank you again Melissa!

All of this continual flow of projects and creative works exchanging hands has put me back on the case of the Perpetual Creative Energy project. I have two very different and bigger projects in the works right now, and will be adding the PCE title to at least one of them. Right now I’m in the process of getting together ideas of items I will share with those that jump in on one or both of those projects (which will be announced within the next week or two). Items may and hopefully will include music and band related items (cds, dvds, badges etc), books, artwork, etc. If you have anything you’d like to donate to the cause get in touch! I also try to raise funds so I can purchase outright some of these things (especially in the way of bands that I support) buy selling pieces of my art, so check the Tulip Tree Esty shop link at top, and share it with anyone you know who is perhaps looking for a unique gift! Creative output begetting the spread of other creative output, the theory behind PCE (P=ce³ could be the symbol, maybe?)

More to come about the shenanigans that are brewing in the blog project department . . .

P=ce³ . . . what do you think?

New Submission to the Smoke project

This just in! Here is the final finished version of Dave Macaulay’s submission, “Fumer” (or “To smoke” in French), a typographic/photographic interpretation of the word. For the photos Dave used his trusty Nikon D80 with a Nikkor 18 – 55 mm lens.

This project is ongoing indefinitely so if the creative bug bites you, please join in with your interpretation of the word “Smoke.” Any medium, no deadline. Come play! See the Smoke Project entry under the Inspiration Highroad tab at the top of this page!

Smoke Project update – work in progress

I received this today from Dave Macaulay of Calgary (Canada), who has been working on his submission to the Smoke project and has this to share, a teaser photo. The work is still in progress, and this image will become an element in the final piece:
